Hotel Polo Towers Group and Varun Tea Plantations Private Limited, the owner of Ellenbarrie Tea, have announced a joint project to set up a new resort in the Dooars region of West Bengal.
The project, called Polo Planters Lodge Resort, will span 20 acres. It will have villa-style accommodation, including pool villas, with views of tea gardens.

According to the announcement, the resort will include a lounge serving Ellenbarrie Tea, food menus using local produce, and activities focused on tea and wellness. The plan is to provide visitors with experiences linked to the planter lifestyle of the Dooars.

Deval Tibrewalla, CEO of Hotel Polo Towers Group, said the project is aimed at building stays that connect with the local setting. Aradhita Agarwal of Ellenbarrie Tea said the resort will present the culture of the planter community to visitors.
Hotel Polo Towers Group currently operates nine hotels and resorts in East and Northeast India. Ellenbarrie Tea has been producing teas in the Dooars for several generations.
